Lead Stitcher

We pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence and our collaborative work environment. We are currently seeking a talented and passionate Stitcher to join our costume team.

Position Summary:
The Lead Stitcher will assist the Build Supervisor in the preparation and execution of costume construction and alterations. This role is vital to ensuring the integrity of the costume design and maintaining the high standards of Hale Centre Theatre.

Key Responsibilities:

• Address questions regarding fittings of pulled and purchased costumes.
• Sort and assign alterations of pulled and purchased items to designated stitchers. 
• Construct or alter assigned costumes according to the specifications provided by the Build Supervisor and/or Patterner/Tailor.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all costume spaces on a daily basis.
• Maintain a flexible schedule during Tech Weeks to accommodate the needs of the production.
• Help uphold the integrity of the costume design for the show.
• Contribute to the maintenance of the standards and quality of Hale Centre Theatre.
• Ensure a safe work environment for all team members.
• Support the overall success of the show by performing any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of previous experience in costume construction and alterations is preferred.
• Strong sewing and garment construction skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively toward a common goal, within a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• A positive attitude and professional demeanor.
• Additional abilities; flexible, able to pivot and adapt to new information; able to identify problems, explore options, and implement solutions; able to look at situations with new perspectives and come up with innovative ideas; )
