Board Operator/Electrician-Part Time
REPORTS TO: Lighting Supervisor
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB FUNCTION:
The Board Operator Position for Hale Centre Theatre will provide assistance in the daily show operations. The purpose of the position is to prepare, rig, program, monitor, repair, and operate lighting equipment to enhance the vision of the Lighting Designer, Artistic Designer, Set Designer, and Head of Lighting. Skills needed to perform well in this position include (but are not limited to) Basic Electrical Wiring, Familiarity with DMX, Wireless, LED decoders, and other lighting control systems. Knowledge and programming skills of ETC Eos family lighting consoles, ability to read a light plot and hang a rig accordingly. Troubleshooting skills of board and/or fixture malfunction. Ability to stay calm under pressure. Great communication skills. Ability to work nights and weekends.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Run light board for shows daily as assigned by Lighting Supervisor, Assistant Lighting Supervisor and Head of Lighting
- Operate Eos consoles and software
- Complete Pre Show, Half Hour & Post Show duties as assigned
- Wire and prepare practicals for installation
- Help prep for lighting changeovers
- Hang, focus and prepare lighting equipment
- Able to read standard lighting draftings, Lightwright information & all show related documents
- Maintain lighting equipment
- Participate in Lighting Hang, Focus, Changeovers & Strikes
- Basic troubleshooting skills
- Willingness to learn and innovate with our ever changing state of the art technology
- Other duties as assigned
